This picture doesn’t even really capture the disaster that was our basement.

After a bit of weeding of course.. Chris started to make this neat path in the garden too using our free mulch. You can see it needs some of my weeding skills as well..

So that’s one little corner checked off my list as looking presentable. As you can see, though, I have a fair amount of space left to fill in to fulfill my flowery visions..The free mulch sure helps though.

Check out your local recycling centre.Maybe you can get free natural mulch too!I debated back and forth a bit with myself this week about whether or not to show you yet another update on my front hall.

I’ve already shown you soooo many photos of a half-finished hall, how much more can you really take?

How interesting can that really be?.It’s a good idea to look back on your own personal tastes for the last 10 years or so and think about what you’ve always loved.

There’s a good chance that you’ll continue to be drawn to that style for years to come.I’ve always been a little traditional in my tastes, so for the things that would catch my eye first, like the shiny faucets and the light fixtures, I made sure that I kept them really traditional.

Because I do enjoy modern style and conveniences too, when the time is right, I went with a pretty modern-looking tub and a really sleek toilet, which you’ll see in my next bathroom post.. Another tip for choosing a style that I love is to look at the exterior of your home when choosing the really eye-catching fixtures that will really dictate the overall “feel” of the room.Take your cues from the style of your home’s exterior (or how you want your home’s exterior to look if you’re in the middle of renovating that too) and go with that.
